Right Where God Wants You

I have posted this link to a blog that I enjoy reading so that you, too, could read this and be encouraged. I don't know about you, but I sure can become discouraged looking around at my circumstances sometimes. So many times I fall into the trap of thinking that if my circumstances were different, how much happier I'd be...if only I had a bigger house, if only my husband were more romantic and attentive, if only my children would get along with each other all the time; lately it's been "if only we could sell our house and buy a farm"...blah, blah, blah. For that is really what it is, just a bunch of blahs. The Lord knows exactly what each of us needs in our lives, and He has our best interests at heart. He can be trusted even when we think everything is going all wrong. How encouraging it is to remember Joseph and his plight and how God worked everything out for good.

So, hop on over and take a look at Kate's post. I'm sure you'll be encouraged, just as I was! ALBRIGHT ARCHIVES: Bro. Ron's sermon on Joseph#links

  1. A good one too is a little book entitled, "The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment" by Jeremiah Burroughs. Not too long ago Tim Challies did a "Reading Christian Classics Together" series on the book and there is discussion about it here. Convicting little book, especially when you hit upon his mentions of families hit by "plague". That little book was written in the 1600s, you see, and he was dealing wtih people affected by THE plague. We are so Americanized and soft, aren't we? But the Puritans can really get to the deepest corners of the heart with a skill that most folks today can't seem to touch. Worthy read.
