Beach Vacation and Father's Day

~ Beach Vacation ~

This year we vacationed in Miami, Florida ~ actually Surfside Beach, one of Miami's beaches.

We wanted to see the Miami Heat basketball team's arena since they were playing for the championship.

And we wanted to see the Miami Dolphins' stadium.

And as my oldest son commented, "You know you're from a small town when your family takes pictures at the Publix supermarket just because the store has its own parking garage and escalators."

~ Father's Day ~

I am thankful for a day that is set aside to honor the fathers in our lives. I'm grateful for my daddy, and although I didn't get to see him on Father's Day, I did talk to him on the phone. I am also grateful for Mike's

dad. Our fathers play an important role in our lives.

I'm especially grateful for my husband. He is a wonderful husband and father. He works hard to provide for our family, and he so often puts our wants and needs before his own. He loves the Lord and strives to lead our family to follow God. He values his time at home with us. He takes time off work to go on field trips with us. He is interested in our kids' education. He enjoys being with our family and doing things together. I am thankful that God picked him out just for us!
