She wanted to go out to eat for her birthday, and she chose Benton Lee's. So that's where we celebrated her 17 precious years of life. I made a French vanilla cake with butter cream frosting for her. Not bragging, but it was yummy.
I just can't believe it... 17 years old
My little princess is not so little anymore :(
This dress that Kate is wearing is one that my grandmother made (sewed and smocked) for me when I was a baby.
She's my princess. She's my sunshine.
She has brought so much joy and happiness into my life, and into our family, and I count it a joy and a privilege to be her momma.
I say she's my angel baby because she's a blessing to me in more ways than one. The Lord took my momma home to heaven in the month of February, when I was 19 years old. Every year I dreaded to see February come around. I hated the month of February, hated what it represented to me. February was no longer the month of love. For me, it was now a reminder of death, of searing loss. The heart breaking loss of someone more precious than words can describe.
And then one day, He chose to give me this angel baby in the month of February.
And isn't our God just so good like that? He is the Redeemer. The giver of all things good. The giver of life. He is Life. He is Love.
I am so thankful that He shows His love for me in big ways, yes, but also in small ways that really speak volumes to my heart.
I thank God that He chose to bless us with this precious daughter. And that He especially chose to bless me with the deliberate timing of her birth month.
Happy Birthday Kate!
Oh, they get so big so fast, don't they? Happy belated birthday to her!
