This I Know

Just thinking back over the past months of the sickness and surgeries and suffering that seem to have kept coming, one on top of another, we've dealt with in this house...  My God has been gracious. Gracious enough to not allow me to dwell on it, to not linger over it. Gracious enough to sustain me through all of it.

Until a couple of days ago, I hadn't really thought much about it at all. I mean I knew that God was there, that He was carrying me, giving me the strength needed to nurse everyone through so much. I knew that, so I didn't think much about it.

Until my friend shared this with me regarding the issue of suffering. As Matt Chandler says in this video clip, "I knew, but now I know." I found it very insightful and helpful so I wanted to share it with others.

I'm so grateful that God is allowing me to see Him, to see His hand at work, in the everyday, ordinary, even the mundane, aspects of my life.

  1. You ready for more? You notice how he mentioned that a couple weeks before his seizure he wound up speaking on Hebrews 11 at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary? Here's that message - literally two weeks before his brain cancer first showed itself and it was a last-minute change. It is a powerfully convicting message. http://thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/justintaylor/2009/11/12/chandler-chapel-message-at-southern/
