My oldest son is home on Spring Break and I'm looking forward to having him here for a whole week (9 days really). He called me on the phone as he was leaving his apartment, headed home. Our conversation went a little something like this:
Ryan: "Mom, I'm leaving now. I should be home around 3:15 or 3:30."
Me: "Ok, be careful. See you soon."
Ryan: "You know Mom, several people in my class today were discussing their plans for a trip to the beach for spring break. I just thought it was kind of funny, lots of college kids head to the beach for spring break and I'm just headed home to hang out with y'all."
Me: "Hmm, well ok... I'll see you when you get here."
I didn't know if I was being exalted or insulted (ha!) I have a feeling if it were some of his friends planning a trip, he might have chosen to go with them as opposed to coming home to be with us.
I have to ask myself though, why in the world would he ever want to go off with his friends when he can hang out with us?
you are too funny. Glad he enjoys being with all of you. Glad for the time he has with Will. I know they are close. We know those brother relationships. I am so thankful for the time Mike & Dakota were able to hang out. Memories made. Things continue to change.
